Is Stress Killing Your Hair?

I was at a lunch party the other day and my friend Damon mentioned that he was loosing his hair. It’s not that people just walk up to me and tell me their health and beauty issues, this was actually about owning a restaurant.

No matter what you do for a living I’m sure there is a certain amount of stress related to the job. Moms have “what’s for dinner stress” and “dishwasher is leaking stress.” It’s not a competition of who has more stress, but if it was, owning a restaurant would be way up there as one of the most stressful jobs.

Just a few months ago, my friend Damon opened   one of the hottest new restaurants in Long Beach, California. It could seat 84 and has a separate bar area. Some nights he has lines out the door and his hours seem to never end. Although Damon is still in his 30’s his knees are starting to hurt and he is loosing his hair.

Men can lose their hair for many reasons.  Genetics can cause male pattern baldness, but that’s not the issue. He is not taking any medications and he definitely is not recovering from childbirth, so what’s going on?

I think we all know. It’s stress. Yep, stress can cause temporary hair loss which makes any guy more stressed, which makes him lose more hair, only to make him more stressed and the cycle repeats.

Damon is the first to tell you that it’s the stress and he has addressed the issue by hiring more help. Stress management is very helpful for many people.  Diet, outlook,  meditation, and yoga can all help.  But when it comes to hair loss from stress nothing hits the follicles like an organic oil based shampoo. There are natural properties in the oils that sooth and coach each follicle to its full beauty potential.

Ever since I’ve seen the benefits of organic essential oils found in Pura D’or shampoo in my own life, I have been recommending it to friends. But now, I’m going to be conducting an exciting scientific experiment.

Does Pura D’or Shampoo and Conditioner help with men who are stressed out?

I will keep you posted. I have a meeting with Damon at his trendy new restaurant this afternoon. I will be trading him a bottle of Pura D’or Shampoo and Conditioner for a bottle of George Clooney’s Tequila.

Damon will report back on the effects of organic oils on a stressful scalp and I will report back on the effects Casamigos Blanco.

I’m actually looking forward to some smoothTequila. I’ve had a stressful weekend. My gluten free bread didn’t come out the way I hoped it would  and my neighbor’s gardener mistakenly cut down all my ivy that took years to grow along my backyard fence.  I’m not venting or whining, just being honest with you. But my hair looks young and vibrant, thanks to my Pura D’or shampoo and conditioner. I always find its easier to get though a stressful weekend with great hair.
